William starts school
Today was William’s first day at school – South Farnborough Infants school. Until half term, he’s only in the mornings, 8.50-12.00. But he thoroughly enjoyed himself.

Today, the weather was a lot better, no rain forecasted. So we all decided to go to Bocketts Farm. Auntie Jacquie joined us, so we took two cars. I drove with ilke’s father, Auntie Jacquie and Matthew, and ilke drove with her mother and William.
The weather did hold out and it was a fantastic day. William really enjoyed himself. Matthew was very good, didn’t cry much and seemed to enjoy the fresh air.

Today, right from the start, I am wearing knickers. I had nursery this morning and a did a few wee’s all on my own there. In the afternoon I was at home and stayed dry all day. What an achievement.
William was thirsty. He wanted a drink of Orange, so he helped himself.
Well, it’s been a while since writing on my blog. Let me bring you up to speed – since Mummy has gone on Maternity leave from work (due in a few weeks time), she’s been concentrating on getting me through potty training. Well, today, all on my own, I did a number two in the big toilet all on my own!
Mummy was so happy, she gave me a chocolate egg to scoff. Yummy.
I’ve had a niggling cough that’s been keeping me awake at nights. It’s worse in the evenings as I lay down all the mucus makes me cough. Eventually Daddy took me to the doctors and he gave me Klaricid 125mg, 70ml, to take twice a day, 5ml a day. It cleared it up no problems. He also gave me Cetirizine 150ml (1mg/ml), 3ml a day. It was to help clear my nose incase I had any allergies. I only took that for a few days.
Thursday 8th March to Sunday 11th March, Dad and I took a cheap flight from Luton to Murcia to see my grandparents. Saying goodbye to Mum at the airport was a bit sad.
The flight going out was great – Dad and I had three seats to ourselves. I was very well behaved. When I got to Spain, Nanny was there to meet me with their friend, Bill. I met with Grandad later that evening.
As it was my 2nd birthday last week, I had a dozen presents to open, one of them was a pair of large trucks which I played with all weekend.
Nanny managed to get a bike for me too which was great as I learnt how to use the peddels properly.
The weekend was too short and before I knew it, I was on a plane back to Luton to see Mummy. We had a bad journey home as the M25 was closed and we had to cut through London, but I was asleep and I didn’t care. It was good to see Mum again though.
During the weekend of 3rd/4th February I got conjuntivitis. On Monday 5th, Mummy took me to the doctors who gave me some antibiotics called Distaclor (Cefaclor) 125mg in 5ml. It was strawberry flavoured. I had two doseages a day.
During the following week, I had dhiorrea, and temperatures. Therefore on Saturday 10th, Mummy stopped giving me the medicine. On Sunday, they noticed a few red blotches on my skin. Come Monday 12th, Mummy took me to see Dr Kumar and said the blotches were from an allergic reaction and therefore prescribed Puritan for me. That evening, when Daddy came home, my face and body were a lot worse. Here are some photographs:
The following morning (Tuesday 13th), the blotches had faded, but my face had puffed out.
I went back to the doctors and he referred me to the hospital for blood tests to see if I had what daddy had over 10 years ago – Stevens Johnsons Syndrome. When I got there, they didn’t take any blood and said that what I had was an allergic reaction to Penicillan. The medicine Cefaclor is 3rd in line to Penicilin. The doctors gave me some strong Piritan type medicine and by the evening my face reduced swelling and the blotches were fading.
This week, I’ve been very unwell. My Daddy has written the following as a diary:

With only a week to go before I fly to Turkey, my parents saw some chicken pox appear on my back. The next few days revealed a few more spots, but thankfully not lots. There were a few on my face, but by Sunday, the day I fly, which was 7 days after discovery, they had virtually gone.
This weekend, I went to Spain to see my grandparents. Unfortunately, Mummy couldn’t come due to her Schengen Visa expiring in March :-(. Still, Auntie Jacquie came instead.
I spent the weekend in the pool. At 15 months old, I’m very aware of the water and I love going out of my depth with Daddy. Can’t wait for Turkey next month!
I also spent some time with Great-Grandad. He isn’t well, but he still made me laugh.
Today, mummy and daddy took me with Auntie Jackie, Andy and Paula Farnborough Donkey Derby. Brett, Emma and Livvy met us there.
Again, my parents entered me in to the baby competition. The weather wasn’t that nice and started to rain. They then started annoucing who had won. First 3rd place, then 2nd place, and I thought, “not this year…” then they said in first place, number 6 – William Norris! Both my parents were thrilled and we received £15. I think my Daddy managed to get some photographs from the Farnborough Rotary Club, as they took some photo’s of us.
Today we flew to Turkey. It’s the first time I’ve flown since mastering my walking. I slept for about 40 mins of the 3h 45m flight and the rest of time I played. I wasn’t too bad. My grandfather picked us up from the airport and we were at home in Gazipasa by 4.30pm.
This week, I am really starting to show my parents that I can really walk. I have been hobbling around the past few weeks, walking between Mum and Dad.
Recently, Elizabeth came around and she can already walk. I started to follow her around the house and my Daddy couldn’t believe his eyes! Since then, I have grown more confident and now spend more time walking than I do crawling. I can also slide down the stairs on my belly. I laugh as it tickles me!
Today, Daddy took me swimming at Farnborough Leisure Centre. We went in the baby pool. I was a bit nervous at first, as it was only my second time swimming. But eventually I loved it.
Although I have been standing and walking around the furniture hanging on, today I managed my first few steps. Of course, food was involved which persuaded me to walk to it. FREEDOM!
Christmas day! I noticed the big sack in the fireplace. And I opened all my presents. At first I started eating the wrapping paper, but then I learnt that there were toys in them.
Nanny and Grandad were here, Karen, Ian, Pinar and great Auntie Jacquie who stayed in a nearby guest house.
Today I met Dr Maltby who checked out my chest and coughing. I had a chest x-ray done at Frimley Park, I was told I was very good and they took two pictures. I have a cold this week and I am coughing lots. I am also teething lots – I have five so far we think. I am not sleeping very well overnight and keep Mummy and Daddy awake, last night being one of the worst for them. Medised – been recommended by other mothers and Nursery, so I had 5ml of that tonight – see how I get on.
